Nokta Legend 2 Metal Detector

The Legend 2 follows the original Legend as Nokta's top simultaneous multi-frequency detector. Like the rest of the Nokta lineup it is fully submersible, so the same machine handles dry land and the surf without a separate waterproof model. The control box, coil and shaft are rated IP68 and submersible to 5 meters (16 feet), and the unit is also protected against total dust ingress.

It is a mid-weight machine at roughly 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) and is marketed as well balanced for long hunts. Nokta positions it as easy enough for a novice to run out of the box, while leaving room for experienced users to build custom setups. For a deeper editorial take on how those claims hold up against owner feedback, see our Legend 2 review.

The headline features Nokta lists for the Legend 2 are:

• 99 target IDs and harmonic tones with adjustable frequencies, so you can separate trash from keepers by both number and sound.
• 15 custom user profiles - every search mode carries a factory default plus three user slots, giving up to 15 setups you can save for different sites.
• Wireless and wired firmware updates straight from a phone or laptop, a Nokta hallmark that keeps older detectors current with free updates.
• Long-life 6700 mAh battery, which Nokta says increases runtime by up to 33% over the previous generation.
• IP68 waterproofing to 16 feet for full submersion.
• Vibration alert on detection - useful underwater and for hearing-impaired users.

The Legend 2 suits a hunter who wants a single flagship rather than separate land and water machines. The multi-frequency engine, adjustable tones and waterproof build make it a strong fit for beach and shallow-water detecting, relic and coin hunting in mixed soil, and anyone who values the ability to save profiles per location. Its easy-operation design also makes it approachable for a confident beginner stepping up from an entry model.

The Legend 2 is sold as a standard package and as a Pro Pack bundle, which adds extra accessories such as additional coils or audio gear depending on the configuration. Several package variants exist, so confirm exactly what is included before buying. If you are weighing bundles against the base unit, our Legend 2 price guide breaks down what to expect at each tier.

Within Nokta's own range, the Legend 2 sits above the all-round Simplex Ultra and the simpler Score tier, as the full multi-frequency flagship. The closest rival from another brand is the Minelab Manticore; our Legend 2 vs Manticore comparison lays out where each one leads. Before ordering, decide whether the standard kit or the Pro Pack matches how you hunt, and check which coil ships in the box. New owners should also download the latest firmware and read the operating guide - our Legend 2 manual page explains where to find the official documentation and how updates work.
