How these reviews are organized
Nokta's current catalog splits cleanly into a few families, and our reviews follow that structure. Each verdict is an editorial assessment based on published specifications and owner reviews from detecting forums - we don't claim to have swung every unit ourselves. Below, the lineup is grouped by tier so you can match a model to your budget and the way you hunt.
If you only want the single best pick for a given use, start with our best Nokta metal detector guide, then come back here for the detailed read on each contender.
Flagship multi-frequency reviews (Legend family)
The Legend line is Nokta's simultaneous multi-frequency tier: IP68 waterproofing to about 10 ft, roughly 20 hours of battery, bundled aptX Low Latency wireless headphones on the Pro packs, and gold-capable settings. Owners praise the value but the number-based target ID and early build quality draw criticism, so read the details before buying.

Are Nokta metal detectors good?
For the money, yes. Nokta's machines are fully waterproof, get free firmware updates and often bundle a pinpointer and wireless headphones. Owner feedback is mostly positive on value and depth, with the main complaints being the numeric target ID taking getting used to and some early build-quality reports on the Legend.
Which Nokta detector should a beginner review first?
Start with the Simplex Lite review or Simplex review. They are the simplest waterproof models to learn on. If you want one machine to grow into, read the Legend review.
Do Nokta reviews cover gold prospecting models?
Yes. The Legend family is gold-capable, and the dedicated Gold Kruzer and wider gold finder detectors are covered for highly mineralized ground.
