Nokta Simplex Ultra WHP Metal Detector
The Nokta Simplex Ultra WHP is the same fully waterproof Simplex Ultra detector, bundled with Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones and a soft case. Buy this version if you want cable-free audio out of the box; the detector itself - waterproofing, carbon-fiber shaft, color LCD and firmware updates - is identical to the standard Ultra.
Pros
- Includes aptX Low Latency wireless headphones
- Same fully waterproof Simplex Ultra hardware
- Often cheaper than buying headphones separately
- Wireless audio works out of the box
Cons
- Priciest Simplex Ultra configuration
- Not worth the premium if you already own good headphones
What WHP means
WHP stands for Wireless Headphone - it is Nokta's label for a kit that pairs the Simplex Ultra with wireless audio. You may also see this version referred to as the Simplex BT in older listings. The detector hardware does not change; what you are paying for is the included Bluetooth aptX Low Latency headphones and a headphones soft case.
What's in the kit
- Nokta Simplex Ultra detector - fully waterproof to 16 ft (5 m), carbon-fiber shaft, color LCD.
- Bluetooth aptX Low Latency wireless headphones plus a soft case.
- Depending on the exact bundle, a Nokta Pointer pinpointer, premium digger and finds pouch may also be included.
The aptX Low Latency codec matters for detecting: it keeps the delay between a target signal and the sound in your ears small, so you do not lose the feedback that normal Bluetooth lag would introduce.
Who should buy the WHP version
Pick the WHP bundle if you do not already own low-latency wireless headphones and want them matched to the detector. It is usually cheaper than buying a quality set separately. If you already have headphones you are happy with, or you mostly hunt with the built-in speaker, the standard Simplex Ultra is the more economical choice.
How it compares to the standard Ultra
Performance in the ground is the same as the base model - read the Simplex Ultra review for how it actually hunts, and the settings guide to dial it in. The only decision here is the headphones: standard kit, accessory bundle with digger and pinpointer, or the WHP kit with wireless audio. Buyers comparing tiers may also want the entry-level Simplex Lite on the shortlist.
Buying note
Because the WHP kit adds hardware, it sits at the top of the Simplex Ultra price range. Compare the listed contents carefully - some bundles stack the wireless headphones with a pinpointer and digger - and weigh that against buying parts individually.
